One For The Money

One For The Money

Finally, ONE FOR THE MONEY is at the cinemas. The first novel-to-movie of the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. It’s taken forever to get here.

I went with three friends on Friday, and on Monday with my husband. We all loved it.

If you haven’t read the book, know this: there’s no high-tech CGI, no vampires, no spaceships.

But if you like character based with an interesting plot and a satisfying ending, you’ll love this movie.

The dynamic between Stephanie and Morelli is perfect. And the Ranger character comes pretty close to my mental picture.

Katherine Heigl is an excellent Stephanie. I knew she would be. I wondered about Morelli and Ranger but it turns out they were also cast perfectly.

Grandma Mazur was a surprise. I had pictured her in the novels as skinny and unattractive, but the lovely Debbie Reynolds with her nods and knowing looks IS Grandma Mazur.

And then there’s Lula and Connie and Vinnie – all jumping off the pages of the novel and onto the screen. We walked out of the movie happy, and hoping TWO FOR THE SHOW will be happening soon. This is a world I want to return to.

How about you? Are you a Stephanie Plum fan? Have you seen the movie? What do you think?
